Best Of British Beer Awards

2007 saw the first year of the Best of British Beer Awards run jointly by Cask Marque and the Daily Telegraph, supported by our trade media partner The Morning Advertiser.

The Daily Telegraph ran a four-week campaign to encourage cask ale drinkers to vote for their favourite cask ale.
Only Cask Marque award-winning outlets were used as polling stations.

During a seven-day period, £1 off vouchers were available in the Daily Telegraph, which were redeemed in participating Cask Marque polling stations.

The country was split into 10 regions and votes were counted by region to give 10 regional champions. The Daily Telegraph produced a four page supplement covering the results of the promotion.

Over 2,000 pubs participated in the competition and each region produced a 1st, 2nd and 3rd most popular beer.
